The YWCA School Age Childcare program K-4
The YWCA School Age Childcare Program mission statement is, “Children are challenged to gain a positive self-image, engage in learning activities that stimulate their natural curiosity, develop friendships and learn to relate to others with respect.”
The primary aim of the YWCA of Niagara School Age Childcare Program (SACC) is to offer safe, affordable and dependable care for elementary school children. Licensed through the New York State Office of Child and Family Services, the YWCA staff prepares plans that include a wide range of supervised activities:
- Daily snack
- Indoor and outdoor sports and games
- Arts and crafts with holiday celebrations
- Staff directed homework assistance and quiet time for reading
All activities are designed to promote positive self-esteem, appreciation and respect for each child’s background and culture. The program is offered at various schools in the Lockport and Newfane school districts. Before school arrival time is 7:00 a.m. and after school departure time is 6:00 p.m. The YWCA of Niagara also offers child care for school early release days, holidays and snow days.
